Product Engineer (Technology Group) - Greenock, Scotland

At the Greenock semiconductor manufacturing site, we produce Bipolar, MOS, BiCMOS integrated Circuits. In addition to this we are moving into the manufacture of discrete devices and developing new Power MOSFET technologies.

 

Nature of Job

Be a key contributor to the development of submicron Integrated Circuits and Discrete power products.

As part of the development group, this role will be pivotal to the success of new product introductions and revenue growth of Diodes Incorporated.                                           

This role will involve working closely with Process Engineering, business units and Process Development teams at the Diodes GFAB site.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with business units in support of new product introductions
  • Definition and control of Products in manufacturing systems
  • Yield improvement and debug of new products prior to release
  • Work closely with Integration group on product characteristics and performance
  • Bench and characterize product performance for test verification and de-bugging
  • Be responsible for new product release to manufacturing process to ensure good yield and manufacturability.

 

Qualifications/Experience

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Physics/Applied Physics, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.

Extensive experience in Semiconductor Product Engineering or Integration Engineering in a Semiconductor manufacturing or design environment.

Desirable to have Specific experience / knowledge of:

  • Power Discrete Products: Rectifier Diodes, MOSFETs
  • Power IC’s: Switching Regulators, Linear Regulators

 

Preferred skills/experience:

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Product definition systems
  • Knowledge of product characterization
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Understanding of Statistics, process control/Capability and limit setting
  • Be able to demonstrate strong data and statistical analysis skills with knowledge and experience of statistical packages (e.g. SAS jmp or similar)
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to take initiative and drive for results
  • Familiar with Lab bench instruments, especially semiconductor parameter analyzers
  • Knowledge of Automated Test Equipment
  • Excellent ability to collate, analyze and present technical data
