Product CAD Engineer/Reticle Maker Process Engineering Group - Greenock, UK

At the Greenock semiconductor manufacturing site, we produce Bipolar, MOS, BiCMOS integrated Circuits. In addition, we are moving into the manufacture of discrete devices and developing new Power MOSFET technologies.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Working in the development group, this role will be pivotal to the success of new product introductions and revenue growth of Diodes incorporated.       

Provide a Layout and Reticle making service for new product development on Integrated Circuits and Discrete power products.

A successful candidate will work closely with colleagues from Photolith Engineering, Business units and Process Development teams to develop and draw key manufacturing cells and structures required for UV submicron processes at Diodes GFAB site.


Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Provide Layout for Manufacturing cells for processes in development.
  • Liaise with and order masks from Vendors
  • Liaise with Business Units in support of new product introductions providing manufacturing cells and data manipulation to allow vendors to manufacture Reticle sets
  • Keep detailed records and archives of Layouts, mask making details and database revision control
  • Support Product Eng. and Test Eng. with all reticle and wafer pattern location information



The successful candidate will have a BSc Degree in Physics/Applied Physics, Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Ideally, the candidate will have extensive experience in Semiconductor layout preferably with experience of drawing manufacturing cells (Align targets, vernier cells etc.) for a manufacturing environment. 

Experience specifically with Reticle generation for ASML stepper and scanners would be desirable

  • Experience of KLayout software
