Graduate Engineer (Process Engineering Group) - Greenock, UK

Diodes' wafer fabrication facility in Greenock, Scotland (UK) has ~300 employees and produces wafers to support analog ICs and discrete components. These products are used in a wide variety of different markets, including automotive, industrial, consumer, communications, and computing.

 

Nature of Job:

This position is for a Graduate Process Engineer at the Greenock fabrication facility.

The graduate engineer will be assigned a mentor and develop to become responsible for driving process improvements on Diodes technologies to support the manufacturing of production wafers.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Implementation of new process changes to improve yield, cycle time, and cost
  • Statistical process control
  • Design of experiments
  • Process characterization
  • Data analysis
  • Defining specifications and procedures

The engineer is also responsible for developing innovative solutions to complex process and equipment problems.  

A successful candidate will work with colleagues from different departments including IT and Equipment Maintenance and will collaborate with them to improve the manufacturing process flows and achieve factory goals.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

The successful candidate will have a BSc Degree (First or 2:1) or higher in physics/applied physics, chemistry/chemical engineering, electrical & electronic engineering, or equivalent.
