Engineering Technician - South Portland, ME

Diodes Incorporated (Diodes) is looking for an experienced Engineering Technician for the South Portland, ME factory.  This is a day shift position supporting the Device Engineering team.

This position requires electrical and mechanical skills supporting the maintenance of electrical test equipment in the fab and wafer sort areas. In addition, the technician would be supporting the Device Engineering group with HP4062 test programming, engineering data collection and analysis for continuous improvement activities. 

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Preventative maintenance on sort and fab electrical test equipment including TEL P-8XL wafer probers, Eagle 364 sort test equipment, HP4062 parametric testers and various bench electrical test equipment.  
  • Insuring high uptime of manufacturing test tools
    1. Some work is performed within a clean room environment that requires the wearing of a smock, hood, booties, latex gloves, and safety glasses 
  • Supporting Device Engineering team with yield and quality initiatives
    1. HP4062 test program development and qualification support
    2. Engineering data collection and statistical analysis using JMP or PDF Solutions Exensio software
    3. Semiconductor device bench test using Keithley 4200 analyzer
  • A safety-minded approach is required: employees must be able to learn, understand and follow all safety documentation, specs and protocols, including LOTO; Must also be able to identify any/all safety concerns and regulatory violations in order to eradicate them

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • An Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technologies or Electromechanical Technologies or Military Equivalent, or other relevant equipment maintenance education/experience
  • At least 5 years of experience as an Electromechanical or Engineering technician required; experience within the semiconductor industry highly preferred
  • Strong electrical/mechanical aptitude
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical issues
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Ability to use digital multimeters, voltage supplies and calibration equipment
  • Experience with Lock Out, Tag Out
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment, and as part of a team
  • Strong problem solver
  • Ability to multi-task 
  • Self-starter
