Direct Digital Feedback Amplifiers (DDFA)

Direct Digital Feedback Amplifier (DDFA) technology is the unique, exceptional performance, closed loop architecture used to create outstanding digital amplifiers. DDFA enables switching amplifier solutions capable of producing a sound quality to challenge that of the very best linear amplifier.

The scalable architecture of DDFA audio amplifiers suits a broad range of power levels, integrates many amplifier peripheral functions, significantly reduces cost and dramatically simplifies system design.

Comprising a multi-channel digital modulator (ZXCZM800) and a feedback processor (ZXCZA200), the DDFA chipset combines with Class D output stages to create high performance amplifiers achieving a THD+N of less than 0.004% and dynamic range of 118dB.

Diodes Inc. has introduced an 8 channel DDFA™ DAC and pre-amplifier chip offering product designers the opportunity to reduce component costs and improve audio performance. The ZXCZM800 dramatically reduces circuit complexity, and will deliver a DNR as high as 126db.

In designs currently using multiple 2-channnel DACs, the ZXCZM800 offers the means to reduce component inventory and PCB size and improving sound quality.

The ZXCZM800 also offers the option of pre-amplifier DSP features such as integrated volume control and digital multiplexing to further enhance product features and performance.
